Today we had a practice run for our mama mia pizzas. We used a pita bread for the base and I used tomato pizza sauce to make the cheese stick on to the pizza. I am dairy free so I couldn't have cheese on my pizza so I had olives, crushed pineapple, onion, parsley and basil!  🍕🍕
Next time I will bring my own ingredients

How to Care for a Tame Bird -By Lily

  1. You will need to get a cage for the bird
  2. At the bottom of the cage you will need to put down old newspaper sheets so it covers all of the floor. You will need to change the newspaper everyday.
  3. If you have not already got the bird you will need to buy one. Parrots, cockatiels and cockatoos, and parakeets tend to be some of the most popular types of birds owned as pets. When you take the bird home  you will need a hard-sided carrier and a towel, to keep the bird calm on the way home.
  4. Most birds will eat fruits, seed, vegetables and nuts. You will need to get 2 bowls (1 for food and 1 for water) You will have to clean the bowls daily and give them fresh food once a day.
  5. Birds cannot eat avocado and chocolate because both of these foods have a chemical that can be toxic for the bird, also only give the bird water to drink.
  6. Feed the bird regularly at about the same time each day. This could be when you eat, or maybe earlier. However, choose a time and try to stick to it, so that the bird knows when to expect its food. If you want to stick to the natural feeding time of birds, feed half an hour after sunrise and just before sunset.During the day, small fruit and vegetable snacks can be left in the cage
  7. To keep your bird Interested you will need to buy some toys and swap the toys around each day. You can also hide food in the toys so the bird can find them, birds love seeds just like people love lollies.
  8. Make sure your bird gets used to being handled so hold it and pet it as much as you can, this will make you and your bird have a closer bond and will greet you with chirps, whistles and other bird noises.
  9. Your bird will need lots of exercise you should let it out of the cage your bird should be exercised at least twice a day, because birds do not like being stuck in cages all day birds can suffer being trapped in cages for along time.
  10. Keep the cage properly cleaned because if you don’t it can cause your bird to become sick.

    -Change the bedding regularly.
    -Remove droppings from perches/toys.`
-Remove uneaten food that has been sitting around on the base of the cage.
-If your bird is molting (this is common with parrots, for example), there will be a need to vacuum up the molted feathers daily

    11.  Some birds such as parrots will need to get their feathers and toenails clipped. when your bird needs to have a feather cut do not attempt to try and do it yourself, go to the vet and the vet will do it for you because feather cuts are aimed at restricting flight not preventing flight.

    12.  Put effort into training your bird. In this way, you can teach it to come out of its cage and be sensible. This will give it much more freedom to enjoy flying around than remaining cooped up inside of its cage all day long. Training is a form of interaction and it plays a vital role in curbing abnormal behaviors.
